Verafy proves you or your learner actually learned — then rewards them for it. Free for every family, always.

A working slice of the real reader — press ▶ Play. A few verses read aloud while the gold zone stays put; the learner scrolls to keep the narrated passage inside it (simulated here, or scroll it yourself).
Chapter 1. The Word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Reading is the key to everything else — every subject, and a lifetime of learning, is built on it. So we built it first, and it works beautifully right now: both learning to read and reading real literature, free to start today. Verafy Academy grows from there, one subject at a time. Every other subject is in active development, and getting each one right may take us months or years. We won't fake it: a subject earns its place only when we've found a real way to teach it and prove the learning happened. So start reading now — and help us build the rest. Tell us how you'd teach everything else.
Verafy is introducing something new, with patents pending: Learning you can verify is real, done by a real person. The verification is analog and runs on your device.
In the reading context, the listen-watch-scroll actions assure full attention from the learner when reading. Similarly, in other contexts, our patent pending methods put the learner at the center, requiring near continuous feedback to make sure the learning is happening. And in many modes, a short comprehension quiz further assures that learning happened.
Who we are
Verafy Learning is built by Trey and Ellice Tomeny — lifelong educators — as a gift to families everywhere. The belief behind it is simple: now that knowledge is becoming abundant and nearly free to deliver, no child and no curious adult should be priced out of a great education.
Plenty of tools can teach. Verafy proves the learning was real — that a present, engaged human actually did the work.
Every verified session builds your Verafied Record — portable, lifelong proof of what you've learned that you own, not us.
Open to every family and every learner, with no in-group and no gatekeeping. Universal by design, and free for good.
Each method requires near continuous interaction, so progress is earned by truly learning — not skipping to the end.
Earned by interactingQuick questions check real comprehension, so "done" means learned, not just finished.
Comprehension, checkedA parent dashboard and weekly report card shows what was learned, what was understood, and that it was really them.
Proof you can seeAnd it adds up. Every proven session is real, verified progress — earned by genuine learning, never faked.
Vera Fy is the friendly host of Verafy Learning — a warm, patient guide who welcomes you in and walks you through the eyes-ears-hands method, whether you're six or sixty. She cheers the first sounded-out word and the first university-level idea alike. Vera is openly an AI and never pretends otherwise; she helps you learn, but she never does the verifying, and she never sees who you are. The proof of your learning is yours, and it stays on your device.

From the first picture book to a university lecture — one guide, the whole way.
Start freeNo licensed cartoon tie-ins, no leveled-reader filler. Two shelves — simple texts for brand-new readers, and full classics for reading to learn — drawn from the books families have trusted for a century, and always growing.
A sampling of the opening shelves. Full texts, beautifully set, read aloud by the voices on your device, or by more natural voices as we grow and improve them.
For learning to read
Literature
Every week you get a private report card of what your learners have learned, what they understood, and proof they did the work themselves — built from their stats. It's the easiest way to know the learning is real. And soon, it's where your family's free local offers — through Veramony and the Verafy Store — arrive, too.
"Eleanor tracked closely through both chapters and gave a thoughtful answer about why Mary hides the key. She rushed the last question — worth revisiting what the robin's behavior tells us. Suggested next: chapter 6 at the same pace."
Each subject needs its own way to prove real learning. Reading is live now. The rest are in development, and your feedback shapes how we teach them.
Phonics, letter sounds, and sight words. The listen-watch-scroll method gets a brand-new reader decoding real words, one at a time.
Full classic books, beautifully set and read aloud, with comprehension checks — reading to learn, not just learning to read. Reading is the foundation everything else is built on.
Handwriting and spelling to grammar, storytelling, and the polished essay.
Taught Socratically from counting all the way up through calculus — question by question, so the reasoning itself is the proof. We're writing this one by hand, from real classroom experience. In active development.
Life, earth, and physical science with suggested hands-on experiments — and on to biology, chemistry, and physics.
History, geography, civics, and economics — from community helpers to world events and government.
History and concepts, and suggested hands-on works — leading to a high-school portfolio.
Notation, concepts, theory, and suggested hands-on training — from first songs to performance and composition.
Typing and internet safety to coding and digital tools — onward to programming, AI, and career skills.
No special hardware needed. For young children, we suggest a dedicated tablet — an inexpensive one works great — pin Verafy Academy as the only app your learner opens: no feeds, no store, no way out. Just learning.
We also suggest inexpensive headphones for younger children.
Every minute of verified learning earns Veramony ($VM) — reward value your learner can spend in the Verafy Store on products and services from local merchants — and on classes from local hands-on teachers that require showing up in person, like athletics, arts, drama, and music. Finish and master a whole book or unit, and that learning's Veramony doubles.
Verified learning earns about $1 in Veramony an hour — and double that, about $2 an hour, when you finish a whole book or unit and pass its final quiz.
Some items are 100% Veramony; others are discounts you split between Veramony and cash. Sections run from 100% $VM all the way down to 10% $VM.
The Store is curated by zip code, so you only ever see products and services available in your own area.
A nearby restaurant offers a free kids' meal for $6 VM (kids under 12). A child reads a three-hour book and earns $3 VM — then $3 VM more for finishing it and passing the final quiz. In the Store they pick the kids' meal, we deduct $6 VM from that child's balance, and email a voucher to redeem in person.
The Store isn't open yet — we're lining up merchant partners. This is a preview of how Veramony rewards will work.
We're building every subject in the open. If you're a parent, a teacher, or just someone with a strong opinion about how a subject should be taught and proven — we want to hear it. This is how Verafy gets better.
Thank you — got it.
Your note is with us. This is exactly how Verafy gets built.
Trey and Ellice Tomeny are professional educators who live in Orem, Utah, with a combined nine children and seven grandchildren between them.
Trey was a founder of Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas, and of Coram Deo Academy in Flower Mound, Texas. He and his first wife homeschooled their two young boys until the day they started going to school with them — every day.
Ellice has been a public school art teacher since 2015, after her first husband passed.
Trey and Ellice share one of life’s heaviest burdens: each has buried a child. TJ, Trey’s oldest son, went to be with Jesus in 2005 at the age of 14. Joshua, Ellice’s middle son, entered eternity in 2016 at the age of 25, after a lifetime with spina bifida. Verafy Learning is built in their memory — for every hour a parent gets to spend reading with a child.
Trey and Ellice were married in 2021, and Verafy Learning is their joint creation. They are excited to share it with the world and to continue to work on it until every person in the world can get a great and free education.
